Decetralized bootstrapping of P2P Networks

The first step for any peer joining a P2P network is discovering existing peers in the overlay network. Common solutions rely on well-known centralized servers to provide new nodes this crucial information. Such servers then become easy targets for adversaries and represent a central point of failure for the otherwise decentralized service. In this work, we use statistical information about Internet organizations (specifically DNS SOAs) to fully decentralize this bootstrapping process.
